Civil Engineer - Engineering Intern (E.I.)
Job description:
TDM Consulting, Inc. is a local Fort Myers civil engineering and planning firm seeking a motivated Civil Engineering E.I. Our team completes commercial, industrial, residential, institutional, and municipal land development projects throughout Southwest Florida for local businesses, property owners, developers, and public-sector clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with site, grading, drainage, paving, water, sewer, and utility design.
- Prepare calculations, reports, exhibits, permit applications, and construction documents.
- Support stormwater, lift station, transportation, permitting, and construction-related tasks.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients, consultants, contractors, and reviewing agencies.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Current Florida E.I. certification, or eligibility for Florida recognition of an active E.I./E.I.T. credential.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving skills, and interest in land development.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred; familiarity with civil engineering design software is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to visit project sites and agency offices as needed.
Professional Growth
Work directly with experienced local professionals on projects in the communities we serve throughout Southwest Florida while building practical design, permitting, construction, and project management experience toward future P.E. licensure.
